Judiciary Committee Passes Elect-the-AG Amendment

The resolution, sponsored by Sen. Mae Beavers, won 5-4 approval. One Republican and all three of the Senate committee’s Democrats voted no, saying they support Tennessee’s current system of having the state Supreme Court select the attorney general.
